A Word of Welcome from the Chair
Dear friends and colleagues,

Welcome to the website of our association! I invite you friendly to browse our pages and learn more about our teaching and research in the field of youth and young adult ministry. As a global association, we want to give young people a voice, when they speak about their concerns and visions for the world of the future – locally and globally. We are confident that there is a huge potential that waits to be discovered by churches through appropriate research and training. As an association we provide scholars and reflective practitioners with a platform for this process of discovery.

Through the scholarly journal and the international conferences people can meet and discuss new empirical data, hermeneutical insights and innovative practices in the work with youth and young adults. As a branch of practical theology, youth ministry research is growing fast and is gradually consolidating its place within academia.

Feel free to join us in this exciting development. Become a member, engage in discussions through the journal and the website, and visit our conferences all over the globe. From 6 till 9 January 2011, the University of Pretoria (South-Africa) will host our international meeting. You are most welcome to attend! If you would have ideas for further development, please contact me in whatever language through chair@iasym.net. I am looking forward to hearing and learning from you!
